I’ve missed writing posts on a bi-weekly basis, but sometimes life gets in the way. My primary focus this quarter is to improve my time-management skills, so I’m not solely doing one subject all night long.
This part of the quarter schedules the arrival of tests, quizzes, and longer homework assignments (yay). Last week I had my first chemistry test and this week, well I’ll talk about that later on in the post.
I’m not a chatter box, although when something is discussed that I know a lot about you can’t shut me up. Our class discussion started off with government, which went to Karl Marx known as the founder of Socialism. A student asked this question, “Why can’t we have socialism in the US, it worked for Karl Marx why not us?” since no one was jumping at the gun to offer their opinion I offered my two-cents, “From a historical perspective, the 19th century was a time of Civil War and Industrial Revolution. Even though Marx was brilliant in his own right, he was born in a totally different government structure and era then we’re in now. If we went into socialism we would end up becoming Russia 2.0.” I was shaking, nervous, and stuttering on every other word as I said this, plus I wasn’t really breathing which was alleviating my heart rate. Despite my nervousness I was still glad I contributed to the discussion.
Today two very awesome things happened to me. First, I got a 95% on my chemistry test. When I got the email from my instructor I nearly jumped out of my chair now all I need to do is get that same score on my math test this week and I’ll be a very happy camper. Gosh I’m still buzzing over it. Last but certainly not least, I was awarded the Liebster Award by angiezingngcupid. Don’t worry my friends I’ll nominate bloggers for this award as well. I’m really starting to enjoy my classes this quarter, and hope this trend of success and positive experiences continues.
