  2. Hello! I am a graduate student in an SLP program and am externing in a stuttering clinic currently. I have a teenage boy who is really struggling, so I would like to have him follow your blog. I was wondering if you knew of any places where he could write and talk to others his age about everything from stuttering to school? Thoughts? Thanks!

    1. If you are okay with it and his parents/ guardians are, he can write for us and discuss his struggles in both school and beyond. I thank you for this message and would love to have him speak his mind openly on this blog. If you would like to have him contact me so I can formally add him to our authors panel, please send a email to jamesphiliprichmond@gmail.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

      Sincerely,
      James Richmond

    2. Here is a link to the National Stuttering Association (NSA), they offer stuttering resources, links, and opportunities to join support chapters for all ages in your local area, if he would like to find a local chapter with teenagers his age, this is a great resource to try. Every year there is a conference where stutterers nationwide meet to discuss their accomplishment and catch up with one another, where guest speakers talk about how they realized their dreams, despite a stutter. I started this blog after becoming a part of the Tacoma Stuttering Chapter (TWsT) as we are called. I hope the above link helps, if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to email me at the above email address mentioned above.

  4. Thank you, James Phillip, for visiting my writing website and reading Ba-dum! I don’t really believe that bull shark is out there with my gravatar on his iPhone . . . but, you never know! I, too, enjoy reading about and studying the Civil War. I’m working on a stage adaptation of Guy de Mauppasant’s classic short story, Boule de Suif, which I’ve placed in Savannah, GA in December of 1864. You will recognize that as the year and time Wm. T. Sherman marched to the sea and presented Lincoln with Savannah as a Christmas present. I’m also reading through the diary of Mary Chestnut. In high school (soooooo many years ago) I won the History Award for my term paper on Lincoln’s assassination. Gettysburg is my favorite place to visit — especially in July. I’m related to Grant, and there is speculation we have ties to Lee as well. How about that? Again, thanks for the visit.

    1. Thank you for the kind words and the visit! I’m an avid lover of history (more specifically American Civil War). Since I was 12 I began studying and idolizing Lincoln, and also contemplating how our country would’ve turned out if the South had won. My ties are in the South, my great-great grandfather fought for Tennessee and his son-in-law fought with the Irish Jasper Greens (militia group from Savannah Ga.). Be sure to give me a shout where in Savannah your play will be, because I’d love to attend if I could. I always love finding fellow history buffs on here! Your posts are quite thought provoking and an interesting read when I’m having my coffee.

      Cheers,
      James Richmond

  5. Hey, I see you are following my “Anxiety and Stuttering” blog, but for some reason the URL is taking you to greatweigh.com (my old site)
Can you see if it works now? I tried to change it.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
